Northlake Golf Club –Private Practice Facility
The Story behind Northlake Golf Club
Northlake Golf Club is a private practice facility that has taken golf practice to a new level in Charlotte. Most golfers visit the Driving Range and buy a couple of small or large bucket of balls to groove their swing and some ranges may have a short game area for chipping & putting. Many have heard of private golf courses but not a private practice facility. After receiving golf clubs as a Christmas gift in 2003 from my parents, taking golf lessons, going to the driving range & hitting balls on the family land. I began to look at what my accounting clients were saying that I had the perfect place to practice. Several of my clients are big golfers and would always ask me if my dogs were in the fence because they wanted to hit a few balls in the field before leaving, I said sure. They would swing and drive up the road to retrieve their balls. Driving home from the driving range one afternoon in September of 2006 , I began to take heed to what my clients had said. Thinking about the driving range I just visited, our field was longer and wider, I have clients who loved to hit balls and most important asset of all we own the land. So upon arriving at home and talking to my parents about opening up a driving range the vision was created. Things began taking shape in February of 2007 and on September 1, 2007 we officially opened Northlake Golf Club-Private Practice Facility. The “Northlake” in the name is the area of Charlotte facility is located. Our club is private because we wanted to maintain the atmosphere and we knew we would be providing our members more value than any other facility located in the area plus we didn’t want to be dealing with cash on a daily basis or counting golf balls to place in different size wire baskets. Our concept is the 1st of its kind in the Charlotte area. The concept has went over well and membership continues to grow. We celebrated our 1st anniversary September 6th, 2008. Our members were treated to a catered lunch from 12:00-2:00 p.m. provided by Charleston House. There were 5- 3 day 2 night trips (hotel & air fare included valued @ $1500) won on closest to the pin on the range. There was a Chipping Contest for $10,000 nobody won the big money but all had fun trying. From 3:00 to 5:00 Groove Masters performed for the public and members as we continued to enjoy the day and raffle off prizes. All those who attended enjoyed themselves and spent the day with us.
Our membership gives golfers their own practice facility with unlimited range balls & practice time to sharpen all aspects of their game in a relaxed serene atmosphere with the natural feel of being on the golf course. We do not sale daily buckets. Our facility features Grass & Mat Tee stations with pyramid stack balls and bag stands that you find at the Country Club golf Ranges. The bag stands holds your golf bags with different slots for clubs and a place to sit your cell phone and keys while practicing, enclosed by grass tee dividers that are available for small businesses to advertise. The tee line also has adirondack chairs and umbrellas to take a break while on the Driving Range. The driving range features the Par-Aide yardage number signs, various flag targets and barber poles to learn your personal distances for each of your golf clubs. The short game area has a putting green, chipping green & 3 Sand Bunkers to help members drop strokes and improve their handicap. There is a small tee box and a fairway for members to practice various short yardages with different clubs to the chipping green. After all of that practice, relax under the open air pavilion in the rocking chairs or other sitting areas and take in the peaceful scenic view of the driving range or the landscaped roses along the walkway. The Palm trees located on both sides of the pavilion add the finishing touch to an atmosphere of serenity. There are 2 Plasma TV’s with Directv, a soda machine, Island gas grill, a sink, mini-fridge, and coolers where members can find complimentary water. An industrial fan for warmer days and outdoor heaters for cooler days are also provided. Private & group golf lessons are also available with Mitzi who is the Golf Teaching Professional for an additional fee.
Northlake Golf Club is providing golfers the best value in Charlotte and surrounding area. Our membership options and payment plans are affordable. In addition, there are no contracts or joining fees involved which separates us from other private clubs and gives golfers little risk but a worthwhile investment to join our club.
Golfully Yours,
Mitzi- Manager/Teaching Professional
